My programming week passed relatively fast and I managed to catch up with some of my work. I should be able to complete it soon this coming week.
Went to my usual BNI meeting on Thu and discover that I was the top referral giver and top visitor bringer. Wow!!!! I never thought it could be me. I shall work as hard to continue with the good work. I shall also enjoy my 2 free breakfasts that serve as a reward. Slept early on Thu as it was the batam trip the next day.
We met the gang of 10 at 8.00am, took our breakfast and set off on ferry to Batam. Arrived at Sekupang at around 11.30am and was pickup by the hotel mini-bus.We only had some free time at the resort including prayer to Guan Yin. Yes, there was a huge Guan Yin statue. Soon, at 2.00pm, we set off for our local food hunt and discover some very nice Ayam/Bebek Pengek (BBQ chicken/duck). We then went to our second stop for bak (meat) mie (noodle). Third stop at Nagoya Hill to do shopping. Wah...the goods are so cheap. I got 15 packets of local tea products at SGD 0.50. I gave one to each member of the group.
At 5.00pm, we pick up the two girls who went cable ski. They were so red. At the same time, I did a little field survey for one of my BNI member. He wanted to see if Batam has suitable place to conduct team-building courses.
We proceed back to the resort and pick up our last team member at the ferry terminal. By 7.00pm, we arrived at the seafood center for our seafood bash. We had fried sotong, cereal prawn, chili crab, steam fish, sambal kang kong and hotplate tofu.We had dinner till 8.30pm and return to our resort to wash up. Night is still young for us, we came to a common room and sat down to play ice-breaker games. Losergot to perform sometime really nasty. I was made to do the Xinchan Elephant Impression as well as a gay calkwalk. Overall was fun. We played and laugh till 12.00am andwe all return to our room to rest.
We wake up at 7.00am and had breakfast and soon, we check out from the resort and went for our massage. It was so good that I slept. Next was shopping soon it is time to bid farewell to batam. Our ferry departed from Sekupang and soon we arrived at Singapore. We had dinner together and left harbourfront at 8.00pm. I guess, all of us slept early that night.
On Sunday, my wife and myself went over to Marina Square for Tim Sum. Really missed Tim Sum so much. Did some shopping and ended up spending SGD 200+ on badminton rackets and bag. Had lunch at Subway, Kallang and we quickly went home to book a badminton court to try our new racket. We did badminton from 4 - 5pm and we started to watch our movies as there are a few in the row.
Now it is time for me to write abt my last few days and it has been enjoyable. I got to know 3 new friends who went to batam with us and I am now planning my tripto bangkok with my wife. I hope I can give her a surprise soon. I am starting work again on Monday.
