Special Posting

I have promise a friend, Angeline, one of my BNI member that I will post some information of her product on my blog. I am now fulfilling that promise. As I am writing this, she is already on her way to New York to promote her Quantum Touch workshop as well as this Quantum Pendant that provides Scalar Energy. What a day? I was so tired that I slept till 1030am. My wife has to deliberately wake me up cos she is hungry. Sigh...... I need to get up despite the need to rest. Soon, we are on our way to Long House @ Upper Thomson Rd.

We ordered our favourite dishes and waited patiently for the arrival of our brunch!!!

Fried Radish Cake (Commonly known as Carrot Cake)

Prawn Noodle

Fish Porridge

After brunch, we bought some Pisang Goreng (Commonly known as Goreng Pisang) back home. Worked through the afternoon and felt terribly hungry at 4.30pm. We then drove over to Compasspoint and had KFC for dinner. After our meal, we went over to Best Denki to do some shopping. I was again looking at the digital camera hoping to find something for Adel that fit her budget. Sorry..... I still find SONY T300 the best value for money going at SGD 499.00.

So, this part of my blog is dedicated to Adeline in the search for her dream digital camera. My recommendation is still SONY T300. I got one and never regretted it. I can vouch for SONY with my head on the chopping board!!! Here are some information that you may be interested.

At 6.00pm, I met up with Chen Lim to pass him some work and thereafter, we went for coffee at 7.00pm. Came home at 8.00pm and continue to do some work. Then at around 9.00pm, my wife requested for Fried Rice. She got this urge after watching a TVB Series. Her wish is my command. I asked that she take out all the necessary stuff and leave them on the preparation bench.

Oh yes, if you think she is cooking, then you are wrong. This time, she requested for me to cook. Well, it has been a long time since I last cooked. But nevertheless, the skill should still be there for a simple fried rice. So, if you want to try doing my way, please following these steps:

Ingredients

1. Garlic
2. Cooked Rice
3. 2 Eggs
4. Cooking Oil
5. Sesame Oil
6. Salt
7. Oyster Sause
8. Optional: Crab Stick, Prawns, Carrot, Peas, Corn, Luncheon Meat Cubes

First, you place the wok on heat (not too hot) and put some cooking oil onto it. Wait for a minute and when the wok is hot, place the garlic into the wok. Immediately, you will get to smell the strong garlic fragrance and when the garlic shows a golden shine, you will place all your optional items into the wok and stir fry with the garlic. Dun wait until the garlic turn brown, then you dish will have a bitter taste.

Doing so, will allow the main ingredient to pick up the nice fragrance of garlic. If the optional items are tasteless (prawn, carrot, peas, corns), it will be good to place some salt so that the final dish will have a more complete taste.

Stir fry for 2 - 3 minutes and you shall now increase the heat. Place the rice into the wok.

It will be wise to now place some salt onto the rice and continue to stir fry. Adding salt now will allow the rice to acquire the taste from within even after you coat the rice with egg in the next step. Stir fry for another 3 minutes, you can now add the egg. Make sure you continue to stir fry and get the egg to mix well with the rice.

Again, place some salt over the rice as the rice is now covered with a layer to egg. You need to make that layer tasty too. Stir fry for another 3 minutes and the rice should be well separated with only some small chunks stick together with the egg.

Lower the temperature and proceed to the final step. Add some oyster sause to enhance the taste and add a brown coat to the rice. Use some sesame oil to bring up the frangrance and to add a little shine to the dish for better presentation. Stir fry for another 2 minutes and food is ready to be served.

With this dish. I won the heart of my wife once again. She loves it. That's my day!

Woke up at 9.00am this morning. Did some work till 10.30am when my wife walked in and say is time for breakfast. Drove over to a nearby coffee shop where she had her longtong and I order mixed vegatable rice. After breakfast, I drove my wife to Compasspoint to pickup her lunch and then went home to prepare for my day.

I have cancelled all my appointment today and therefore I am free. Decided to go to Kallang Starbucks to work for a change of environment. Reached there at 11.30am.

That's my workplace!!!

Christmas Hamper

We left the place at 6.00pm, and hurried to Marina Square to catch the show below

Good. Got good seats for 6.45pm show and all we need is to wait 15min. Perfect timing. It was a good show. We enjoyed it and laughed non-stop. After the show, we wanted to check our SONY store but was closed. So we ended up at Starbuck again. My wife wanted to try the Christmas Special Latte after I talk so much abt it. Here we are, at Starbucks Marina Square. At the same time, I received an SMS from Ericia. Poor girl, work until so late so was inviting her to join us but too late, she was on her way home.

After our session at Starbucks, we left Marina and went home.

13 Nov 2008

Sorry to disappoint you. I do not have pictures for the day as it was one of the darkest day in my life since 2006 (as far as i can remember).

Started my day at 6.20am. But I know that my body is about to surrender. Cos I have been sleeping an average of 3 - 4 hrs a day for the past 4 weeks. Attended my BNI meeting. Wow!!! I managed to generate 4 referrals overnite. I hold my energy well and still able to function properly. But it was totally a mental game I am playing with myself.

The nightmare began at 2.30pm. I went into a meeting without knowing that I am expected to do a full system demostration. So, I has to boot up my computer and present the interfaces to the Director one by one and allow him to question me on my understanding.

Well, in most cases, I can handle it well but without any mental preparation and that I was not feeling well recently, I actually felt the pressure suddenly. This 2 hrs meeting turnout to be 3 hrs and I am late for the next meeting. So, I have to rush to fulfil yet another responsibility.

Without unloading my mind from the last meeting, I was then presented with some changes in a system design and put my 3 days effort into waste. Of course, the triggering point was my wife chatting me and asking me what time can she come down to the city. Frankly, in most cases, she is free to go to the city. In fact, she shouldn't even need to ask me. But, once she reach the city, she will have an expectation on me to quickly finish my work and join her for dinner.

Looking at the situation. Huge load on my mind, design changes and I haven't got any idea what to do and also a couple of deadline coming up. I just dunno how to answer this question anymore. I practically cannot think and cannot communicate. So, I decided to let it off and shut down all my communications. Off my notebook, off my handphone and sat there to cool off.

Frankly, is not her fault. I know it is just a very simple question. But maybe when this same question has been asked so many times, the expectation built up became so huge for me to shoulder. I was so afraid that when she arrive in the city before I finish my work it will be another hell for me. I am really not in the condition to take another blow.

I left my client's place at 9.00pm and drove to SPRING Singapore to drop off a document. Frankly, I have not really recovered. So to avoid her being my victim, cos I really dun know what I will say when I am emotional. I drove to VIVO and sat at Starbuck for a while. Soon, I regain my confidence and control. I felt the energy within me once more. I start to think positively and is time to go home. Yes, my dark moment was over!!!!

Reached home at 11pm and my life continue from there.

Lucky for me, I was quite close to this customer, I am sure they will understand. My emotion was all written on the face. Sorry guys, I know I have kept all of you worried.

Today is my wife's birthday. Well, all should know by now since we celebrated yesterday. We woke up in the morning and decided to have Macdonalds Breakfast. Has been quite a while we have not done this.

Drove to Compasspoint and walked into Macdonalds. It was quite crowded already. Queued and got our standard package. Hotcakes with Sausage for my wife and Big Breakfast for myself.

After breakfast, I rushed to my client's place for rescue. Cos their network may have some problem. Did a quick fix and was working there over lunch. A kind soul then offered to buy me chicken rice and suger cane juice. So nice of my customer!!!! You know who you are!!! Thanks.

When over to Bugis for a meeting and met a super financial planner. I like the way he presented to me and I am sure he has given a serious thought before meeting me. He is quick in responding to my question and sharp in detecting my needs. At the end, I gave him my budget and ask him to structure a plan for me.

When back to client's place for rescue mission 2 and then continued with my work. Then my wife MSN me and told me her desired place for dinner. Wow!!! This place has to book so called and make a reservation.

In the evening, we went to this out-of-town place - Hilltop Restuarant for teppanyaki. This place is situated on top of a hill behind Jurong Bird Park. You will have to drive up the slope at Jurong Bird Park entrance to access to this place. We can get a good view of Jurong Island on the hilltop.

All prepared for food!!! Yummy!!!!!

These are the side dishes!!!

Chef preparing our Salmon!!!

Our Rice!!!! Hey, it is damn nice!!!!

After dinner, we drove home and that's where I did some work. Then I realise that I have not work on my referrals and visitors. So quickly chatted a few of my contacts and send some sms. I also checked with my wife and she need Mask replenishment. Great. I generated 4 referrals for my BNI meeting tomorrow. Since I was in the BNI mode, I also sent invitation to around 10 contacts I have and hope that I will get some visitors the the subsequent weeks to come. Great Job!!!

11 Nov 2008

Woke up from the ring on our door. Oh yes, it Tuesday, our part-time domestic assistant is here to help my wife with her chores. She hate ironing, mopping and cleaning the toilet. Anyway, I decided to sleep a little longer. She woke me up at 9.00am to go for breakfast at Qi Ji next to Hougang Mall.

Reached home and was flushed with tons of work. Hai....is just another day that I cannot do what I planned to do. Lunch was at 2.00pm and we went to Compasspoint. Was planning to eat Macdonalds but there was a blackout. So ended up going to the new food court at the upper floor.

Surprised. The food is not bad. I had porridge and my wife had Fried Hong Kong Mee.

Left home for a meeting at around 3+ and reached Bukit Merah at 4.15pm. I was then stuck there till 6.30pm. Now I have to rush to VIVO to collect the gift for my wife's birthday. Unfortunately, while I was waiting to pick up the gift, she has already reached VIVO. Leaving myself with not much choices, I decided to change my plan and meet up with my wife. But I asked that they pack the goods for me.

Gave her some excuse and we decided to celebrate one day in advance. We ended up at Bakerzin for dinner.

The ATM Machine!!!

The Birthday Girl!!!

The Food!!!!

The Birthday Cake!!!

She choose her birthday cake and we are bringing back home to have a little midnite ceremony. Haaa... she still doesn't know what has been installed for her. On the way back, I just walked her into Best Denki and told her that I have a present for her. I pass her the receipt and told her that it was a birthday card. She opened it took her quite some time to realise what is going on. The next moment, she asked: "You bought this for me???? Then how about yourself???" I told her that I got one for myself too and she felt much better. Then she was in joy!!!!

An audio headphone. No.... I am not so cheapo and she will not scream in joy. This is only one of the free gift. We waited patiently for the gift and she inspected that everything is in good condition.
While we waited, I told her the story. In fact, early 29 Oct 2008, I have already place a deposit on the gift as I think the pricing was quite good. I also got one for myself. Ya, it was a SONY VAIO Notebook!!! It was in her favourite pink and mine is charcoal black (Mine still have to wait for stock to replenish).
These are all in one package. Creative Audio Headphone, 8GB Thumbdrive, Optical Mouse, VAIO Bag and a free 4GB RAM upgrade. If you are interested, the price is still fixed at SGD 2399.00 but you will not get so much gift anymore.
The gift!!!!

What a happy birthday girl I got here!!!

What a happy wife I got here!!!!

With this new gadget, she can put the legacy system to sleep.

She finally sat down and play with her gadget while I started to work. But on and off, she will ask me how to install this and install that. Sigh...... these are the additional cost that comes with the gift. Then she reminded me that I promise to give her SGD 200.00 shopping spree. She decided to use it for the new notebook bag/casing. Well, so long she stay happy, money can be earned back by working harder. Please spend so long it makes you happy.

Met up with one of my programmer at 9.30pm and came back at 11.40pm. Then a BNI member chatted me. I have to stop halfway thru to do the little ceremony for her. I took my guitar and sang her a happy birthday song in English and Mandarin. We then took the cake from the fridge to prepare for the ceremony.

Smile baby!!!! Happy Birthday!!!!

Come on, do a funny face!!!!

One more round of birthday song!!!!
And then, blow the candle!!!!!

Short and sweet ceremony!!!

Result: A happy girl!!!
After the ceremony, I came back to the room to blog while she browse the web using her new notebook looking at all the SONY VAIO accessories. Hai..... my heart will skip a beat when she spotted something she likes.

That's all for the day. I need to retire to rest as I have a longer day tomorrow. With all these spending, it will take me another few weeks of hard work to earn it back!!!
